The church is God's people, called for God's purposes, and sent out with His power for the good of his world. In seeking to live out our "sent" identity GBGF is arranging our entire church around Missional Communities as the primary means through which we will mobilize people together on mission and connect new people to a discipling community.
A Missional Community consists of a committed core of believers (FAMILY) who live out the mission of God together (MISSIONARIES) in a specific area or to a particular group by demonstrating the gospel in tangible forms (SERVANTS) and declaring the gospel to others, both those who believe it and those who are being exposed to it (LEARNERS).
A Missional Community is NOT JUST a small group Bible study, support group, social activist group, or weekly meeting. Our hope is that every person who is committed to the GBGF family and mission will be fully involved in a Missional Community and that eventually the Missional Communities in our area will multiply out. Each Missional Community is characterized by the following. We are family. We are servants. We are missionaries. And we are disciples learning to live in light of the gospel together.
These identities form a foundation and then each group lives out their gospel ID's together for the good of different areas of our town. We want to equip people to see their families, vocations, and really all of life as a canvas on which to display the glory of God and be about the work of cultivating God's world.
